Python...

So since most of the advanced topics discussed at Google IO this year seem to be python related.    I have until May 27 to learn enough python to not look like a complete idiot,  fun eh?

I've rolled through a couple tutorials,  but have problems learning something unless I have a need to build a practical application with it.    Anyone happen to have any ideas?

I'm sure I will be able to follow along,  even if i'm not a python master by then.  Python seems pretty easy;  easy to follow along with,  pretty logical.

My one problem with Python..   every time I sit down and try to do something with it,   I ask myself..  "Why not just do this in PHP?"    I guess that's the problem with being completely comfortable with one language.. don't see the point in trying to build stuff in multiple languages.

Guess i'm still learning....

One of these days I need to sit down and build out something using Ruby On Rails as well..

So much to learn!    Such a small brain :)
